Melissa supports AFFORDABLE Christian education at ACI Academy with a BENEFIT.

 Melissa is pleased to be apart of this year's ACI Academy Benefit event!  She'll be performing a brand new show with her band.  ACI Academy provides a Christian based curriculum for about half the price of other Christian schools.   The concert will be at the Arlington Music Hall on April 22, 2011.  From their website (www.ACIAcademy.org):ACI Academy takes its privilege and responsibility to educate your student very seriously.  We, therefore, provide a very challenging, encouraging, academic program that both exceeds state standards and is college preparatory.  In an effort to ensure educational advancement in various areas of study, students are exposed to as many subjects as possible.Elementary students’ academics focus on mastering the basics of their core subjects:  math, reading, English, spelling, science, history and vocabulary.  Included with these basics, their areas of study are enhanced with foreign language (Spanish and Sign Language), computer, Art, Music/Drama, and P.E.Another key component to our Elementary program is an emphasis on training students to be well-organized and disciplined.  Students are trained in organizational skills and are held accountable to their academic expectations.Middle School is a transition from elementary school to high school.  Subjects for Middle School include math, literature, grammar and composition, science, history, speech, foreign language, and P.E.  Other selected subjects are offered as electives for the students.  Study skills and note-taking skills are taught during this time.  Latin offers a basis for language and serves as a source for many English words.
